Formula One Seal Test Rig
Design and development of a 25,000 RPM seal endurance test
rig for a Formula One seal manufacturer. The rig consisted of 4 separate
test heads, 2 high speed and 2 low speed, each driven by a high speed motor
and a high speed toothed belt drive train. One or two seals up to 180mm
diameter can be tested in each head, up to a temperature of 170°
C and pressure of 160 bar, by a unique oil re-circulation system. All
parameters for each head could be independently set and controlled via the
control PC.

Mechanical Seal Development Rig
Design and manufacture of a high speed seal test rig, with
a maximum speed of 24,000 RPM, sub-critical rotor, SiN bearings with full
flow oil lubrication system, bearing temperature and vibration condition
monitoring and ‘Labview’ data acquisition and control.

Gas Seal Test Rig 
Design and manufacture of a number of high speed Gas Seal
Test Rigs for various locations around the World. These operate at speeds up
to 30,000RPM and are driven by a 110kW AC synchronous motor through a belt
drive and high speed gearbox transmission system. Ancillary equipment
includes a 200Nm torque transducer, 3 pump water cooling system and oil
lubrication system.
