Quadratec Limited has significant expertise and experience in designing,
manufacturing and supporting a wide range of automation and robotic
equipment. It was therefore a logical extension of our business activity to
act as the UK Sales and Product Support Agent for a new series of revolutionary
Autonomous Surveillance and Security Robots, produced by RoboWatch
Technologies in Germany. The robots, MOSRO 1, MOSRO MINI and OFRO are amongst the
most advanced robots of their type in the World and provide a very secure
and highly cost-effective solution to Surveillance and Security issues,
offering a wide range of detection technologies on three different platforms. The mobile
robots have been specifically designed for situations where either manned or CCTV surveillance is either too dangerous, too expensive, ineffective or
impractical and offers a very cost-effective and reliable alternative.

Typical duties include security monitoring of homes, building complexes, halls,
offices & factories, warehouses and outdoor installations, to detecting a variety of environmental
conditions (e.g. hazardous gases, temperature levels etc.), access control
and general monitoring. The robots navigate themselves through their territory using patterns downloaded
from their control workstation. They continuously report back to the control
station (via a wireless LAN connection) and identify potential
dangers such as movement, human shapes (in total darkness and through 1m
thick walls), smoke, heat, gas, radiation biological agent etc. using a variety of cameras, ultra-sonic
detectors, passive IR, radar and specialist sensors. On detection, the robot initiates a
‘pre-alarm' state, if necessary, prior to producing a full alarm at the control station.
The robot is virtually
maintenance free and can work non-stop for up to 18 hours on one charge if
necessary. It can then automatically re-charge in its own ‘docking station’
ready for its next patrol.
